Exploring maths outside.


This week Room 11 and 12 are working together at a variety of maths activities and enjoying the sun at the same time. The activities range from sitting under a tree reading books about maths concepts to measuring a range of objects and discussing which is tallest, shortest, widest etc. Mrs Graham and Mrs Gordon are really impressed with how much maths talk is going on!
Manipulating 3D shapes and putting together maths puzzles.


Making patterns using repeating units.

Writing sentences about 10.

Making domino flowers- matching the number of dots with the number in the circle.

Making 10.

Playing snakes and ladders with a giant dice.

Exploring position- around, beside, next to, above, under etc.
